THE ballot boxes have all arrived and counters at Mile End Leisure Centre are busy verifying papers before the count begins.

Results for East End seats Poplar and Limehouse and Bethnal Green and Bow are expected at 4am this morning and prospective Parliamentary candidates and their agents and supporters are milling expectantly around the corridors of the centre in Burdett Road.

A spokesman for Tower Hamlets council said around 300 staff, including counters, will be working through the night to get the results.

At least five police vans are parked in the leisure centre car park and there are around 30 police officers overseeing proceedings.
