The Yorkshire club will come down to east London low in confidence after just one victory from their first seven games

Guiseley are the latest visitors to Brisbane Road on Saturday and Leyton Orient cannot afford to take the National League strugglers lightly.

The Yorkshire club have only claimed one victory this season; against bottom side Torquay United on August 19.

Other than that solitary success, the Lions have found it tough and lost to Gateshead, Aldershot Town, Halifax Town and Hartlepool United.

It is a set of results which saw boss Adam Lockwood relieved of his duties this week and depart the club alongside assistant Dave Penney.

As things stand, it is not known who will take charge of the first-team on Saturday away to Orient.

But Steve Davis’ side should expect a stern test because they will be facing a group of players with something to prove.

Even if Guiseley don’t appoint a manager between now and 3pm on Saturday, you would imagine the Lions will be out to impress, so O’s have to be ready for that.

They left it late to remain unbeaten at Brisbane Road last weekend with Craig Clay scoring in the seventh minute of stoppage time to salvage a point against Eastleigh.

Davis said: “Saturday was frustrating for the fans as well as us because of the amount of stoppages and time wasting which were going on.

“But when you get the reward of your effort of trying to force the issue you all come away with big smiles and it felt like a win.”

Maybe it felt like three points, but it wasn’t and another draw on Saturday would be a huge disappointment for Orient.

“We need to make Brisbane Road a fortress and that was the message to the players after Eastleigh,” said Davis.

“Obviously we were all delighted to still be unbeaten at home after three games and with them one being the toughest we have had to face here.

“They have spent big and have a lot of experience in their team and they will be one of the challenging teams up there with us hopefully.

“But to come out with a point after being one down against one of the best teams in the division, we should take great pride from this.”

A draw against Eastleigh wasn’t a bad result for Orient, but if they are serious about making Brisbane Road a fortress then they need to beat Guiseley this weekend.
