TOWER Hamlets council has been recognised as London’s top gay-friendly local authority by pressure group Stonewall.
Tower Hamlets Council came twelfth in Stonewall’s Top 100 Employers 2011 with a score of 182 points, an improvement of three points from last year.
The Index is based on a range of key indicators which this year included the largest ever confidential survey of lesbian, gay and bisexual employees, with more than 9,000 participants.
Next month is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month when a range of events shall be held across the borough.
