The Oaklands School gym was full of the sounds of excited screams as students ripped open their all-important results.
Pupils at Morpeth School were also relieved with results which will see them heading off to sixth form to study for their A levels.
Many of them will be queuing up to enrol as the first students at the new Cambridge Heath Sixth Form which will offer students in the north of Tower Hamlets a chance to take A levels in Bethnal Green rather than facing a commute to a college elsewhere.
