PROTESTERS gathered outside their sixthform college in East London this morning in a demonstration against the fighting in Gaza.

The students were involved in the demonstration at Tower Hamlets college in Poplar, organised by college staff and the university lecturers' union, aimed at supporting a march in Central London planned for Saturday.

John Rees, from the Stop the War Coalition, addressed the students telling them: "I cannot watch pictures of the bombing of a school and then come into the college. These could be my students or my family."

Protesters plan "the biggest demo since the Iraqi war" against Israel in Central London on Saturday.
