A controlled explosion was carried out on the London Underground by anti-terrorist police after a suspect package was discovered on a train heading to Canary Wharf.
Transport Police were called to North Greenwich station on the Jubilee Line when Underground staff found the item yesterday on a train going eastbound. The station was evacuated and remained closed most of the day.
Specialist officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command carried out the controlled detonation to ensure the item was made safe.
Scotland Yard later issued a public appeal for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious on the Jubilee Line or anywhere else to call the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800-789321.
