Suspects hunted after two bus attacks in East London

Police have issued CCTV images today of suspects they want to trace following two attacks on buses in East London in December and January.

They are appealing for witnesses in both incidents to contact them.

A ticket inspector was attacked on a 15 double-decker along Commercial Road in Whitechapel at 1pm on December 12, at the traffic lights with New Road, after challenging a passenger without a valid ticket.

The inspector ended up punched in the face and was later treated for concussion. The suspect ran off.

The second suspect threw a glass object at a 25 ‘bendy’ bus in Mile End Road, at the junction with Stepney Green, at 1.15pm on January 19. The windscreen was shattered and the bus had to be taken out of service.
