Dear Ed,
OUR residents association here on the Exmouth Estate in Stepney recently considered Swan Housing Association's proposal to redevelop parts of the estate.
Swan Housing's argument that money will come onto the estate is fallacious as no contract exists specifying these sums.
Contracts protect both parties to a transaction. If Swan Housing truly intended to provide money to residents of the estate, sums would be well known and a contract either in place or ready for signature once approval were granted.
There is no contract. There will be little or no benefit to residents. The Exmouth Leaseholders Group voted against this proposal and our members are now making their views known to planning and our Tower Hamlets councillors.
