Mathieu Baudry is available again for O’s ahead of their London derby with Barnet

Leyton Orient captain Mathieu Baudry will return to the match day squad this afternoon for the trip to Barnet.

The French defender has missed nearly a month’s football following his straight red card at Oxford United on March 12.

Although the O’s appealed against the decision, the Football Association rejected their request to overturn the sending off.

Peter Ramage has deputised well since joining on loan from League One outfit Coventry City last month.

It leaves player-manager Kevin Nolan with a tough decision to make over who starts at the centre of his defence.

Baudry, Ramage and Shaun Brisley can all do adequate jobs and it shows the strength in depth now available to the east Londoners at the back.

Youngster Aron Pollock has been on the substitute’s bench in recent weeks, but he picked up a facial injury in Tuesday’s ‘Final Third’ Development League South match with Cambridge United and will miss out.

Baudry played just over an hour in that game and will hope he is included in the starting team at the Hive today.

Another person pushing to get in the Orient team is Lloyd James after some excellent cameo appearances in recent weeks.

He impressed against Hartlepool United on March 28 and was brilliant off the bench at York City last Saturday.

James scored O’s equaliser and made a huge impact to boost his hopes of starting against the Bees this afternoon.

Nolan’s side are currently ninth in the League Two standings and without a win in three games, but success against Barnet would most likely see them move back into the play-off positions.
