Andy Edwards could be without three experienced players at the Keepmoat Stadium

Andy Edwards could be without Leyton Orient captain Robbie Weir and Callum Kennedy for his first official match in charge of the east Londoners.

The O’s take on Doncaster Rovers later this afternoon in League Two at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Edwards, who was interim boss for two games earlier in the campaign, was appointed manager until the end of the season on Wednesday.

Weir is struggling with illness while Kennedy has a problem with his groin and may miss the clash with Rovers.

Orient will definitely be without Gavin Massey after he picked up his fifth booking of the campaign on Tuesday night.

Jens Janse continues to sit on the sidelines with a shoulder issue and Ulrich Nnomo is still out with an ankle injury.

Edwards is therefore likely to place some trust into the younger members of Orient’s squad today, especially with Yvan Erichot still struggling for fitness.

Myles Judd made his full debut for O’s on Tuesday night against Exeter City and may retain his starting berth.

Victor Adeboyejo won’t be travelling to Doncaster, though, after joining Margate this week on loan while Charlie Grainger headed to Hampton & Richmond Borough on loan.

Sandro Semedo and Josh Koroma could be handed a chance, however, if the Brisbane Road outfit switch to a 4-4-2 formation at the Keepmoat.

During Alberto Cavasin’s last three matches, Orient played the diamond in midfield, yet enjoyed little success.

With Weir not 100 per cent fit, Michael Collins and Nigel Atangana could link up with Koroma on the right and Semedo on the opposite flank.

Harry Cornick remains absent with a groin issue and has returned to parent club AFC Bournemouth to continue his rehab.

Jay Simpson can be expected to start up top, though whether he partners Ollie Palmer or Paul McCallum remains unclear.

The O’s supporters will travel north with more confidence after the appointment of Edwards this week.

Orient’s former Academy Manager impressed when in charge of matches against Plymouth Argyle and Barnet.

Edwards will now get a longer stint to show off his coaching ability and importantly will have the full backing of the O’s supporters.

Meanwhile Doncaster duo Mathieu Baudry and John Marquis are likely to start against their former club this afternoon.
