New signing Shaun Brisley is available and likely to be on the bench against the U’s

Leyton Orient player-manager Kevin Nolan will be tempted to keep the same team for the visit of Cambridge United this afternoon.

While that would appear an easy decision on paper, in the long run it might not be so wise for a side that has played two games already this week.

Nigel Atangana has started the last two matches, but hadn’t played since November 21 before that so his fitness will need to be assessed.

Orient will have more options on the substitutes bench after signing defender Shaun Brisley on loan from Peterborough United on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old hasn’t played since October, however, when he suffered a knee injury whilst with Northampton Town.

He is expected to be among the replacements, but Sammy Moore is likely to miss out again as he looks to get back to full fitness.

Armand Gnanduillet has been introduced as a substitute in the past two games, since joining permanently from Chesterfield, and he will be pushing to start against the U’s.

If Orient can record a third consecutive victory, they’ll move up to fifth and close the gap between themselves and third place Oxford United to just three points.
