Fabio Liverani’s injury list remains a long one

Leyton Orient should have defender Scott Cuthbert available again today, but forward Darius Henderson is expected to remain on the sidelines with a hamstring issue.

Three consecutive defeats have seen Orient’s hopes of beating the drop take a blow prior to today’s fixture against Sheffield United at Brisbane Road.

Doncaster Rovers, MK Dons and Rochdale have beaten O’s in recent weeks and it has resulted in them occupying the final spot in the relegation places with just two League One matches remaining.

Fabio Liverani’s team trail Crewe Alexandra, who sit directly above them in 20th, by two points and will hope for a positive result this afternoon.

Cuthbert missed the loss at Rochdale because his wife was giving birth to a baby girl, but he could return to the starting team.

Henderson, however, joins Romain Vincelot (knee), Adam Legzdins (shoulder), Andrea Dossena (hamstring), Kevin Lisbie (ankle), Charlie Grainger (finger) and Gary Woods (back) on the sidelines.

But Dean Cox is expected to continue after making his return from a troublesome groin injury on Tuesday night.

He scored the last time Orient won on home soil against Port Vale on March 31, David Mooney was also on target that day, and the pair will hope to inspire Liverani’s team again.

Gary Sawyer suffered a calf injury in that match with Vale and he isn’t expected to have recovered in time for today’s match.

Ticket prices have been slashed for the Blades clash and O’s will hope a big crowd roars them onto victory.
