Steve Davis may give the team which played at Sutton the chance to redeem themselves this evening

Steve Davis could retain faith with the same Leyton Orient team which started at Sutton United in their National League opener on Saturday.

Very few of the O’s players were able to walk away with much credit from Gander Green Lane after a disappointing performance.

Cambridge United loanee Josh Coulson looked strong at the back, while James Dayton was lively and Macauley Bonne battled well.

But there was plenty of room for improvement elsewhere, although the Orient head coach hinted his starting XI may be given another chance to impress.

Davis, speaking on Saturday, said: “We will possibly make changes. I’ll have a look at the game and see the incidents and the goals.

“We will have a look at performances, but I think it is too early to make wholesale changes because we need to give this group a chance.

“As a human being and footballer you always want a chance to redeem things and some will be happy with what they have done.

“Josh was good and George (Elokobi) in the second half, but we need more from other areas and hopefully we deliver that against Solihull Moors.”

A decision for Davis will be who to include on the bench after selecting Josh Koroma over Tristan Abrahams at the weekend.

Both youngsters offer a number of qualities in attack and whoever is left out this evening will be slightly unlucky.

The team Davis does pick will have to be far more aggressive at home to Solihull than they were against Sutton.

Orient were not brave enough in attack and needed to get more into the faces of their opponents last Saturday, so they will look to put that right this evening.

But there is no reason to panic just yet. It is a new team and patience is required, yet hopefully we see a number of positives tonight.
