Teenager arrested in hunt for knife killer

DETECTIVES have arrested a teenager in their investigations into the murder of student Yusufu Miiro in an East London stabbing. The 18-year-old handed himself in to police and was arrested in connection with the investigation. He is now in custody at an East London police station

DETECTIVES have arrested a teenager in their investigations into the murder of student Yusufu Miiro in an East London stabbing.

The 18-year-old handed himself in to police and was arrested in connection with the investigation. He is now in custody at an East London police station.

Police were called to the stabbing St David’s Court, a block of flats in Parkstone-road, Walthamstow, on July 10.

They discovered 20-year-old Yusufu bleeding from wounds to his head and chest.

He was visiting a friend when he was attacked in the staircase, but managed to reach the flat before collapsing.

Yusufu, a student living in Stratford, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He died from stab wounds to the chest, a post mortem later established.

The Homicide Serious Crime Command is appealing for witnesses who may have been in St David’s Court or in Parkstone-road at around 8.30pm on July 10, or has information, to contact the incident room on 020-8345 3775, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
