Three teenage girls from east London arrested in a counter-terrorism investigation have been released from police custody after 10 days.
The two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old were taken in custody by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command from their home addresses on May 1, but have now been released with no further police action, Scotland Yard confirmed last night.
They were originally detained under the 2000 Terrorism Act, police said.
Three other women who were arrested in north London as part of the same operation, including a 21-year-old who was shot during a police raid in Harlesden, have been charged with preparing a terrorist act.
The woman was shot, Rizlaine Boular, was arrested on April 30 after being released from hospital.
She has also been charged along with her Mina Dich, 43, and Khawla Barghouthi, 20, with conspiracy to commit murder and are all due at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this-morning.
Police have now completed searches of all the addresses connected with the operation.
