FORMER hostage Terry Waite is joining an East End charity which helps people with low incomes to celebrate its move to a new home in Bethnal Green.

Quaker Social Action runs a range of projects from its base in Old Ford Road including Homestore which gives furniture a new lease of life and Street Cred which gives women with low incomes support in developing their business ideas.

The charity also runs Homelink to guarantee rent and give homeless people a helping hand in getting a roof over their heads.

Made of Money helps people learn how to handle money and Knees Up encourages people to get together with others in the community.

Mr Waite who has a hostage in Beirut for five years, four of them in solitary confinement, will join the party on Wednesday.
