A U-turn by transport bosses wanting to impose ‘exit only’ at Wapping Overground station during this year’s London Marathon has been welcomed by London Assembly’s John Biggs.
The ‘exit only’ restriction has effectively left residents stranded in previous years.
But John, who represents East London at City Hall, held meetings with TfL in January after scores of complaints from residents and got the decision reversed. TfL had cited concerns on crowd control as the justification for preventing passengers entering the station.
