Neil Gear is riding high after his stunning aerial shot of the Thames won top spot in a photo contest for medical staff celebrating the 25th anniversary of the London Independent Hospital’s opening.
Consultants, nurses and friends of the hospital in Stepney Green submitted images to reflect what it’s like living in London, from riding on the DLR to snapping Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street.
But Neil topped the lot with his atmospheric aerial picture high above the river looking east towards Tower Bridge, with Canary wharf vanishing in the distant mist.
The winning images have been blown up into posters to decorate patient bedrooms and waiting areas.
