THE Brick Lane Curry Festival kicked off yesterday by breaking the record for the world’s tallest stack of poppadoms.
The tower of poppadoms stood at 6 ft tall, breaking the old record of 4 ft 7.9 inches. Members of the public were invited to get involved and help build the poppadom tower and play ‘jenga’.
The Brick Lane Curry Festival 2010 runs for two weeks and commences with a music festival and street party on Sunday.
This year’s open air street party and outdoor music festival will be complemented for the first time by an indoor music event held at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane.
