WITH the festive season all wrapped up residents are being encouraged to think green and recycle their Christmas trees in the first few weeks of the New Year.
The politician charged with getting Tower Hamlets residents acting greener Abdal Ullah said: "It's really vital that people make the effort to recycle their Christmas trees and rubbish from the festive season and that they continue doing it in the New Year."
Trees can be taken to the Reuse and Recycling Centre at Northumberland Wharf, Yabsley Street, on the Isle of Dogs.
Trees will also be collected as part of the food and garden waste recycling service, on collection days between Monday January 4 and Friday January 15 and they will be picked up for composting.
Collections may also have been set up at blocks of flats with communal refuse collections.
