COPS are appealing for witnesses after a mugger snatched around £10,000 in a street robbery.

The thief pushed over his victim, a 59-year-old shopkeeper who was on his way to bank his takings in Watney Market in Shadwell, grabbing a plastic bag containing around £10,000 in cash before running off towards Tarling Street.

Police have been studying CCTV footage and making enquiries since the robbery which happened around 11.30am on Monday, September 21.

The suspect is described as a white man aged 20-23, of slim build, around 5ft 6ins tall, with short brown hair and was wearing a white short sleeved shirt and jeans.
