Three people were led to safety by emergency fire crews from a warehouse in London’s East End this-afternoon when a blaze swept through a scrapyard.
The fire broke out on the banks of the River Lea at Aisla Street in Poplar, when two cabins and 20 tonnes of rubbish went up in flames.
It took an hour to bring the blaze under control, but there were no injuries.
Four crews were called out from Poplar, Shadwell, Bethnal Green and Ilford fire-stations. Cause of the fire is being investigated.
