Three rescued in night-time flyover car smash

THREE people were injured in a head-on car smash in East London early this morning (Thurs) which blocked the main A11 Bow Road near the Bow Bridge Flyover. Rescuers had to get one of the drivers out by stretcher with suspected neck injury

THREE people were injured in a head-on car smash in East London early this morning (Thurs) which blocked the main A11 Bow Road near the Bow Bridge Flyover.

Rescuers had to get one of the drivers out by stretcher with suspected neck injury before he was taken by ambulance to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. The other driver and his passenger were treated for minor injuries.

A black BMW was in collision with a Vauxhall at 12.30am which caused lane restrictions for an hour while the rescue got under way.
