Tom Parkes: Leyton Orient must cut out sloppy errors to get it right at Brisbane Road

Ex-Leicester City youngsters knows O’s need a string of positive results at home and discusses LOFT’s protest last weekend
Leyton Orient defender Tom Parkes hopes cutting out sloppy goals for the visit of Exeter City later this evening will help them improve their form at Brisbane Road.
The O’s have claimed just one victory at home in League Two this season – a 3-0 success over Stevenage on August 16.
Alberto Cavasin’s team have lost their last seven matches in east London, which has seen them drop to 20th in the table ahead of hosting rock bottom Exeter.
“It is strange because normally most teams are stronger at home, but I wouldn’t say we are not a strong team,” said Parkes.

“We do play good football at Brisbane Road, it is just the sloppy goals that we’re conceding, and once we do that it kills us. It is hard to get back into a game when that happens.
“Our away performances have been fantastic this season and we need to take those performances and bring it home now.”

During Saturday’s match at Brisbane Road and an hour before kick-off, Leyton Orient Fans’ Trust staged a joint-protest with Blackpool Supporters Trust.
Both chanted in the 18th minute of the fixture, although it was a peaceful protest and didn’t appear to have an effect on proceeding between the two teams.
Parkes added: “I had heard things about it, but I didn’t concentrate too much on it and was just focusing on the game.
“Whatever happens with the fans and protesting it is down to them, we’ve just got to keep working hard as a team.
“Like I’ve said a million times we have just got to concentrate on Exeter and get a massive three points, which is not just for ourselves, but for the fans and the manager and then keep going.”
Even if Orient do win tonight, Parkes believes it will take more than one victory at Brisbane Road to put the home form right.
The ex-Leicester City youngster knows they must string together a run of results in E10 and keep the away success going.
“We go away from Brisbane Road and put great performances in and get good wins like at Colchester United,” said the 24-year-old.
“And then on Saturday we’ve come back home and lost and it is disappointing, but once we get a couple of victories here it will do us all the best and hopefully then we can bounce up the league.”
