West Ham are desperate for a win against Wigan this Saturday at the DW Stadium while their opponents will be desperate not to lose.
Despite our poor form of late we should head up to Lancashire positive because of our recent record up there.
In fact I can’t remember the last time we were beaten by Wigan and if we can get a win there and then beat Sunderland we have a chance of staying up.
Wigan are the type of team this season who you could beat 4-0 or who could beat you by the same scoreline, they have been so inconsistent. They are probably the most unreliable team in the division this season.
They have dangerous forward players in Charles N’Zogbia and Huge Rodallega who can hurt any opposition.
N’Zogbia is by far their most creative player who is good at picking a pass, while a powerful shooting has bagged more than a few spectacular goals down the years.
Rodallega is an excellent target man and leads the line really well. He is impressive with his back to goal, while his goal record is impressive.
I believe defensively they are weak and it is an area of the pitch the Hammers would hopefully take full advantage of.
Roberto Martinez has done as good a job as he can at Wigan if you consider the size of the club and their attendances.
He has brought in some good players and is trying to get them to play attractive attacking football, which can only be a good thing.
