It was always going to be tough against Arsenal because they are a good team in form and to get a point against them even though we were at home is fantastic.

I would like to think it was a pivotal game for us and hopefully it will kick-start the season and we can go on a good run.

To come back from two goals down is great for the club, it increases morale on the pitch and in the stands, but it is also important we keep our feet on the floor.

We did not win and this weekend we have a tough game at Sunderland, so we have to take this result and build up momentum and until we start producing consistent results you cannot say we have really turned the corner.

I must admit I was really worried for us when Arsenal went 2-0 up.

We gave ourselves a mountain to climb and at half-time I was really concerned Arsenal would push on and get a third, which probably would have been game over.

However, two things happened which changed the game and swung it back into West Ham's favour.

Arsenal failed to push on and scorea third. You could see that they were happy with what they had and they showed no intention of pushing forward and killing the game off, they just sat back and that invited pressure.

That helped us and we used it to our advantage and we had more of the ball and we used it well.

Zola had decisions to make and we all knew he was going to make changes it was just a matter of timing, and I felt he got it right.

Aleesandro Diamanti and Zavon Hines certainly made a difference when they came on and personally I would like to see them both starting more games.

We looked a lot better with both of them on the field, we created more chances and looked a lot more threatening going forward.

Diamanti is a good, talented footballer with a lovely left foot, which creates a lot of chances for us, both in set- pieces and open play.

I am not sure if he works in a three either side of Carlton Cole and I am sure Franco Zola will get the best out of him. He looks the type that would play in the hole behind a striker,

With him it is a case of trying to find his best position so we can utilise his abilities as best we can, but I can understand why the manager has not given him a run of games.

When you are on a losing streak you cannot maintain the same team week in, week out and you are always searching for that elusive 11 that will consistently win you matches.

I am hopeful though we can build on the result and have a settled side, which will be of a great benefit to the team.

I don't think the fixture list has been kind to us. We have only had four home games this season and they have been against three of the top six teams and we still have to host Manchester United and Chelsea before Christmas!

The goals again on Sunday came from mistakes at the back and these errors are getting punished all the time at the moment.

It is the type of thing which happens when you are near the bottom, while when you are at the top those errors we made might not have led to goals.

Robert Green and James Tomkins should have done better and cleared the ball for the first goal, while for the second I would say Gallas was only four yards out and was allowed to head home.

Green has put his hands up and taken responsibility for the first goal and fair play to him for that, but maybe that mistake played on his mind for the second goal.

If a ball from a corner is drifted into the six yard box you would expect the keeper to come and claim the ball, but he did not and Gallas took advantage.

Robert is a consistent keeper though and he just had one of those games, but the save at the end of the game was fantastic and rescued a point. hopefully that terrific stop will give his confidence a lift and I believe he is a good, consistent goalkeeper.
