Internationally-renowned artist Alex Echo is getting his latest collection into shape to open at Canary Wharf next week.
His Shape of Things collection opens at Canary Wharf’s Castle Fine Art gallery as part of a UK tour.
The self-taught American-born artist who had no formal training is best known for creating more advertisements for Absolute vodka than any other artist, having developed four 2,000sq ft billboards along the iconic Sunset Strip in Los Angeles.
He has created artwork professionally for 37 years, getting the attention of some the world’s top corporations, institutions and celebrities as collectors. One recent project was painting a guitar for charity for Eric Clapton which sold at auction for £20,000.
Echo, who now lives in Britain where he cites the English landscape as his main inspiration, presents his new collection at the gallery at 34 North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, on July 14, which runs for a week. His works can be bought from the exhibition or online.
