A prestigious government award has been given to Tower Hamlets council for promoting third sector organisations in London’s East End which have bid competitively for social care contracts from the Town Hall.
The authority came first in the category for ‘Procurement Innovation of the Year’ for health and related organisations.
It was also recognised for developing ways of supporting contractors after three services were successfully commissioned out.
