Can I dock my yacht in your car park?
That was the bizarre request asked of staff at Travelodge’s Tower Bridge branch.
The hotel chain has revealed just a handful of the strange requests it received during the past year - including this occasion, where a customer’s PA asked if he could make an unorthodox use of the Goodman’s Yard hotel’s parking facilities due to the close proximity to the Thames.
Another guest at the nearby Liverpool Street branch requested whether staff could ask the emergency services to turn down their sirens when they pass the hotel.
And it seems the odd questions aren’t just specific to east London branches, either, as other hotels across the capital have reported peculiar guest requests including ‘which train goes to Hogwarts?’, ‘are you able to stop the rain?’ and - in the middle of a busy city - ‘can I have a sea view room?’
