Teenage Air Cadets from Tower Hamlets have been trained how to deal with heart attack victims and people with broken bones on an intensive first aid course.
The 13 youngsters, aged 13 to 17, successfully completed the St John’s Ambulance Youth First Aid Awards and received their certificates at a presentation ceremony last Friday.
The 12 DF Air Cadets, based at the Bow Territorial Army Centre in Mile End Road, had to learn about various types of injuries and illnesses and the appropriate medical treatment to provide, before demonstrating their knowledge in a practical assessment.
