Tower Hamlets College has been rated “good” by Ofsted.
Inspectors praised staff for developing students’ employment skills through a range of initiatives, including partnerships with companies based in nearby Canary Wharf.
The report noted that success rates had increased considerably since Ofsted’s last visit and described the college as making a “very significant difference to people’s lives”.
Areas highlighted for improvement include stretching and challenging A-level learners more and promoting equality and diversity,
Principal Gerry McDonald said: “We are committed to serving the education and employment needs of our local community and we welcome Ofsted’s recognition of the quality of our teaching and other innovative approaches to helping young people and adults in Tower Hamlets to progress successfully into work or further education.”
