Hundreds of residents got a taste of Olympic sports during a free festival at the weekend.
The Tower Hamlets Sporting Carnival at Mile End Stadium on Saturday gave residents of all ages the chance to try out free Olympic sports from football to archery.
The council also put on cultural performances, including performers on stilts, and music in celebration of the London Games in less than 40 days and grassroot sport.
There was also be an outdoor zone for wall climbing, canoeing and skateboarding, along with large inflatable balls, face painting, a coconut shy, steel pan music and bouncy castles.
