A pledge to promote a better understanding of mental health has been signed by the board in charge of health for the borough.

The Time for Change pledge was signed by Tower Hamlets Mayor Lutfur Rahman on behalf of the Tower Hamlets Health and Wellbeing Board at an event in Town Hall, which coincided with World Mental Health Day.

The health and wellbeing board is promoting mental wellbeing as one of its key priorities and is taking a lead in fighting stigma and is overseeing the development and delivery of a three year vision for improving the quality of life for people with mental health problems.

Cllr Abdul Asad said: “We can do much more to promote awareness of mental health and help those who deal with it in their daily lives.”
