James and Carol Doherty, of Maroon Street, Limehouse, and Hubert Ignatowicz, of Thomas Fyre Drive in Bow, will be raising money for the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD).

All three riders have participated before, with more than 200 cyclists taking part last year to raise more than £10,000 for the charity.

“Through fundraising for CAFOD, people are giving communities an opportunity to work their own way out of poverty” said CAFOD Westminster manager Tony Sheen.

“Events like Pedal Against Poverty enable us to make this happen.”

The eighth year of the event will follow a scenic route along the River Lea through north London and Hertfordshire.

Riders of all ages can still sign up by visiting cafodpedalagainstpoverty.eventbrite.co.uk
