Firefighters in Tower Hamlets will be striking today along with their colleagues across the country over changes to their pension scheme.

The strike is being held by members of the Fire Brigade Union (FBU) between 12pm and 4pm.

During the four-hour interval, the London Fire Brigade will provide a reduced level of response and may not respond to less serious emergencies.

Members of the public can help to reduce the risk of fire during the strike action by following the advice given on the London Fire Brigade website: www.london-fire.gov.uk/SafetyAtHome.asp

London Fire Brigade has also launched a ‘Take Extra Care’ campaign for the strike. See details at: http://www.london-fire.gov.uk/
