A CHARITY will collect food donations this weekend from outside a Canary Wharf store.
Volunteers from the Tower Hamlets Foodbank will be outside the Waitrose shop on Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
All the food collected will be distributed to the poorest people in the borough through two distribution centres opened in December.
A previous supermarket collection provided more than 1,600 meals and in the last three months around 700 people have been given vital support.
The Foodbank is an initiative of the Christian charity Trussell Trust, which runs around 90 centre in the UK, 15 of which are in London.
