Tower Hamlets has been allocated �7,525,192 in extra government funding for additional school places.
Education Secretary Michael Gove last week wrote to local authorities to inform them of their share of �600 million of extra funding being made available for this year and next year.
A DfE spokesperson said: “Funding is targeted at areas where the pressures of soaring birth rates are being felt the most, and allocations are based on information local authorities provide.”
Brent received the highest amount of funding with �30, 883,239. Waltham Forest got the second highest allocation at �29,897,429 while Newham got the sixth highest highest at �22,437,406.
