The council will be inspecting the borough’s roads over the coming months after being granted £250,000 to tackle potholes.
It will conduct a fast track inspection to identify and repair potholes after severely wet weather caused problems to arise last winter.
Mayor of Tower Hamlets, Lutfur Rahman, said: ”Keeping the roads in good repair is a continuous budget challenge for all councils and the additional funding for pothole repair is very welcome.”
The checks and improvements are being funded by the Department for Transport in the hope that roads will be made safer for cyclists, motorists and pedestrians.
