The Green Party has announced its candidate for the Tower Hamlets Mayoral election next year.
Chris Smith was unveiled as the hope of the Greens by the Party on Monday. He will also be vying to become the first Green councillor at Tower Hamlets town hall.
Chair of Tower Hamlets Green Party Alistair Polson said of Mr Smith: “He offers radical solutions to the problems of local residents who are being targeted by our brutal government.
“He will be the candidate with the best, most far reaching and ambitious policies for Tower Hamlets in the election.”
Labour’s John Biggs has been announced as the main candidate to rival incumbent Lutfur Rahman for the title of executive mayor in the borough.
