EAST Enders will be able to find out from today if they are at risk of heart disease at the first ever 'digital kiosks'.
NHS Tower Hamlets has set up three digital devices across Tower Hamlets, giving 40-74-year-olds the chance to have an assessment to find out how healthy their heart is and how likely they are to develop heart disease in the future.
Using the special machines that have never been piloted in the UK before, patients will have their weight, body fat content and blood pressure measured and will be asked a range of questions on their general lifestyle.
The machine will then produce a 'risk score' to indicate how likely it is the patient will develop heart disease in the next 10 years.

The results can then be passed on to the patient's GP.
The digital kiosks will be at the Ideas Sore in Gladstone Place, Roman Road from today as well as at the Chrisp Street Ideas Store in East India Dock Road and at the Town Hall in Mulberry Place until July 24.

As part of the project, there are also plans to have temporary heart clinics around the borough where heath care assistants will be using mobile heart pods to measure the patients' cholesterol levels, blood pressure and BMI levels and offer advice on how to prevent problems in the future.
