FAMILIES were basking in the sunshine as they helped raise cash for an East End community centre.
Around 60 residents turned out at Kingsley Hall in Bow on Saturday for its first summer fete.
And they enjoyed an afternoon of bargain-hunting as the centre in Powis Road hosted a range of stalls, a bouncy castle and a tombola.
More than 220 was raised on the day to go towards funding the up-keep of the centre to enable youth groups and a variety of East End projects to use the facilities for free.
