THE East End's healthiest restaurants and caterers were honoured by the Town Hall today.
Seven winners were selected for the Tower Hamlets Food for Health Awards after making changes to their menus or ingredients to reduce the amount of calories, fat and sugar in their food.
The awards are part of the Tower Hamlets Healthy Borough Programme which is being run by NHS Tower Hamlets together with Tower Hamlets council.
Among the winners who received gold were caterers Baxter Storey based in Canary Wharf, Mudchute Kitchen on the Isle of Dogs, Etc Venues at the Royal Mint Court and Restaurant Associates in Canary Wharf.
And those who won the silver were Sweet and Spicy in Brick Lane, Gardiners in Mile End Road and Bar.BQ Base in Whitechapel.
