THE major rebuild of an East End school got closer to completion this week as the last beam was placed on its new roof.
The �36 million redevelopment of St Paul's Way, which recently became the first school in the borough to become a National Challenge Trust, is part of Tower Hamlets council's Building Schools for the Future programme.
The new building will have its own theatre, art gallery and state of the art sports and library facilities and provide services for the whole community to use, including an internet caf� and careers centre.
The school has already been handed over with its staff and assets from Tower Hamlets council to an educational trust which consists of Town Hall chiefs and bosses from nearby Queen Mary University of London.
