Thousands of households across East London are being warned they could lose Freeview television signal this week as tests are carried out for 4G mobile phone services.

Households in parts of Tower Hamlets could lose sounds, pictures and even whole channels during the week.

The test, which started on Monday, is being undertaken by At800, the company responsible for making sure viewers can still watch TV when faster 4G mobile phone connections are introduced on a wider scale.

At800 has received more than £180million in funding from the UK’s largest mobile phone networks in order to assist householders and businesses when 4G is switched on later this year.
