Nominations are open for the Tower Hamlets Star in the Community Awards, which recognise the unsung volunteers lighting up the borough.

The awards, to be handed out at a special ceremony in January, are up for grabs to those from neighbourhoods managed by 10 housing providers: Clarion, EastendHomes, Gateway HA, One Housing, Poplar HARCA, Providence Row Housing Association, Spitalfields HA, Swan HA, Tower Hamlets Community Housing and Tower Hamlets Homes.

They could be a tireless volunteer, an active member of a community group or someone who lends a helping hand to their neighbours.

Residents and residents’ groups can nominate and be nominated.

There are five categories, including a prize for young people aged under 25.

Full details and application forms are available at participating housing associations and online via this link. Deadline for submissions October 19.
