Two young Arsenal fans from Tower Hamlets are getting closer to their heroes after being selected for the club’s ballsquad.

Fifteen-year-olds Kieran Wall from Poplar and Charles Welham from Stepney were selected to be part of the 2014/15 season’s squad.

The boys are part of a team of 20 who will fetch the ball from the sidelines and throw it back to players during home games at the Emirates Stadium.

Kieran and Charles, who are both members of young supporters scheme Junior Gunners, were among 150 youngsters aged 12-16 to try out for the role in April.

They got their first taste of the action during the Emirates Cup at the start of August and will play a key role in league, cup and European matches at the stadium.
