EAST Enders were preparing to kick-off the Mela celebrations in style at an art workshop.
Kids were out in force creating banners and flags as well as birds, tigers, elephants and lotus flowers for the procession this weekend which kicks-off the Bengali New Year celebrations.
Tower Hamlets council together with the street art company Emergency Exit Arts held the free workshop at Bishops Square.
Party-goers will parade through the streets from Bishops Square, through Hanbury Street, Brick Lane and onto Vallance Road on Sunday.
They will finish in Weavers Field by noon where the fun will begin with international performers taking to the stage.
