Visitors to the Tower of London went back in time as they experienced a regal medieval Christmas from the days of King Edward I.
Actors took on the roles of King Edward I and his court as the monarch who reigned from 1239 to 1307 celebrated the festive season.
The King, his new wife Queen Margaret and their courtiers tried to forget their impeding war with Scotland and the king’s frosty relationship with his son Edward, the Prince of Wales as they gathered for a yule-tide feast.
The celebration continues in the medieval palace at The Tower until Thursday Dec 31 from 11.30am until 4pm and twenty-first century guests are welcome to attend.
