The Tower of London has helped launch a search for architectural talent after being shortlisted for a national construction award.
The White Tower is one of seven buildings to represent London and the South East at the Savoy for the national RICS Awards on October 19.
RICS is a regulator of land, property and construction standards, established by Royal Charter in 1868.
Having won this year’s Project of the Year and Building Conservation awards regionally, the Tower hosted the launch of the 2013 London and South East Awards.
Property professionals gathered at the historic building on October 3 to hear what judges look for in the annual awards.
There are eight award categories – Regeneration; Community Benefit; Building Conservation; Design & Innovation; Commercial; Residential; Infrastructure; and Tourism and Leisure.
The Project of the Year is the entry judged to have scored highest across all categories.
The winners in the first four categories then go on to compete in the national RICS Awards, as in the case of the White Tower.
Entry forms for the 2013 awards are available at www.rics.org/awards, with a deadline of January 18.
