Tunnelling for Crossrail 150ft deeep under east London may have been completed last month—but on the surface there is serious tunnelling still being carried out by this toddler.

This was more fun, tunnelling your way to adventure when a new children’s drop-in centre opened off the Commercial Road.

Mums were invited to watch Tower Hamlets Council unveil the centre at Bigland Green, which has crèches so they can pop to adult education courses, knowing the tots are being looked after.

There was dancing, face painting, games and crafts laid on, as well as a storytime session, ‘Little Kickers’ toddler football match and a music class.

Staff ran information stalls offering adult education advice and put out plenty of food.

But the toddlers just couldn’t wait to get on with the serious business of the day—testing out the play equipment like the fun tunnel.
